Online vs In-store.
Watch the channels compete and compare each month’s count and share of total activity.
Month
Counts and channel share
| Month | Online count | Online % of total | In-store count | In-store % of total | Total activity | Period |
|---|
Online counts distinct order + grouped parent SKU activity. In-store counts unique fitment records. Shares describe recorded activity, not revenue, units sold or unique sales across channels. Complete months shared by both sources appear by default; periods before in-store history began are excluded.
Follow the electric shift.
Battery-electric models and mixed-powertrain families, compared year on year.
BEV = battery electric. Partial includes every order for a model offered with EV and other powertrains. PHEV = plug-in hybrid, available as a separate scope. The workbook has no fuel field; these are model-family estimates, not verified EV purchases.

Read the evidence carefully.
The ACCC reported average petrol prices in the five largest cities rose 48.8 c/L between 20 February and 11 March 2026, reaching 219.7 c/L, during the Middle Eastern conflict. The Electric Vehicle Council reported 15,839 BEVs and 8,215 PHEVs sold nationally in March. These national figures provide context; they do not establish why this business’s orders changed.

Product formats are inferred from Rack Set Name: bar terms → roof bars; Platform, Pioneer, LockNLoad and Caprock → platforms; all other names → Other. Counts are recorded order activity, not units or completed sales. Models outside the reviewed list are Other / unreviewed, not confirmed ICE.
Review model classifications · 8 October 2026
Mixed models include all powertrains, across generations and markets. Classification applies to the current supplied model name and may not reflect the powertrain available on an historical order date.

Where demand is gaining or losing ground
Select a model to examine year ranges, series, body and roof definitions. The detail window uses the page’s sales year; the comparison windows for these observations are shown above.

Is the online / in-store split unusual?
Vehicle splits outside their screening range

Both sources represent the supplied online rack activity and recorded in-store fitments. The fitment file contains no store / branch field, so individual store anomalies cannot be assessed.

How findings are selected
- Complete months only. Online uses matched year-to-date YoY when the full prior window is covered. Otherwise, the latest three complete months are compared with the preceding three. No comparison is shown if either window lacks source coverage. Recent comparisons can reflect seasonality.
- Rising: prior ≥10, current ≥20, increase ≥10 and ≥20%. Falling: prior ≥20, decrease ≥10 and ≥20%. Lists rank by count change, not percentage alone.
- New / returning: recent three-month activity ≥10 and previous three-month activity ≤5, with at least six months of preceding source coverage. New means first observed within 12 months; it does not confirm a model launch. Persistence is the number of recent months with recorded activity.
- Channel screening uses six prior shared complete months. The baseline is a weighted online share. The band is the widest of ±5 percentage points, twice historical monthly share standard deviation, and twice an approximate sampling allowance. Overall screening needs ≥600 baseline and ≥100 latest activities; vehicle screening needs ≥60 and ≥10, plus activity in every baseline month. These are review flags, not significance tests.
- Opposing channel trends require ≥10 activities per channel in each three-month window, with one growing ≥20% and the other declining ≥20%.
- Rack movements need prior ≥10, absolute count change ≥10 and absolute percentage change ≥20%. Vehicle year-range shifts need current and prior model counts ≥40, current branch count ≥20 and a ≥10 percentage-point share change.
- Counted activity is online distinct order + SKU combinations and unique in-store fitments, not revenue or verified units sold. Data coverage uses all source activity; vehicle demand uses mapped activity. Sources have no common order link and no branch field.
- Actions are investigation suggestions. Stock availability, promotions, cancellations, profit and completed-sales status are not supplied, so these observations cannot establish causes or forecast stock requirements.
Watch the leaders change.
Race individual models or combine them into powertrain categories to see demand move.
Vehicle Type is not included in this saved data. Use Update workbook to re-upload the file with the Type column in the vehicles tab.
Partial models include all powertrains under that model name. These are model-family orders, not verified EV purchases.
Complete months only. Rolling totals use the selected month and the preceding 11 months.
Know what’s being counted.
Trace the connection between orders, rack SKUs and vehicle fitments.
Online orders and in-store fitments
In-store counts one unique fitment_id, using the recorded customer vehicle ID. Online counts distinct order + grouped parent SKU combinations. A fitment is not a verified sale or separate customer order. The files have no common transaction ID, so cross-channel duplicate transactions cannot be identified. In-store timestamps use Queensland time; online dates remain as stored.
How much can we attribute?
Coverage uses distinct order/SKU combinations before vehicle filtering.
| Year | Recorded rack orders | Mapped to a vehicle | Coverage |
|---|
Changes in mapping coverage can affect apparent growth. Unmatched records remain outside vehicle rankings.
A consistent comparison
- One rack order per order + SKU. Repeated grouped-parent rows count once. Quantities aren’t supplied.
- Vehicle orders count each order once per make + model. One order covering two models contributes once to each.
- Make + model combines fitments. Series, body, roof type and vehicle years are merged. Only case and whitespace are normalised.
- Vehicle Type filters the original fitment. A model can span multiple Types. Only orders linked to the selected Type are counted; All types includes blank values.
- YTD compares matching dates. Full-year comparison is available for completed years. The race uses complete months.
- Mappings come from this workbook. Historical records are matched against the supplied rack and vehicle lists.
Order status, quantity and revenue are absent. These views measure recorded order activity; completed sales and units cannot be verified.
